Hello! I am a native of San Antonio ,Texas and when to school at Eastman School of Music and The Cleveland Institute of Music. I have been teaching since I was 21 years old and have over 25 years of professional orchestral experience as 3rd horn and principal horn. I have experienced a lot of different types and levels of students and love to be a motivational teacher because if you have the will and patience you can become a great player! My husband and I own Lukas Horns and that has helped me as a horn teacher since I know so much about how the horn works and the things you can do to overcome many aspects of playing the horn. The first thing I look at is one's embouchure and breathing. These things can really hurt a person's playing if not done correctly. I do realize that not one thing works for everyone so I am always analyzing each student and doing what is best for them. I do teach out of the traditional horn books and will suggest what I think is appropriate for each student. Once size does not fit all! I hope to hear from you and am excited to get started!
