I'm a former student of Torkil Bye, Vidar Austvik, Aldo Baerten and Benoît Fromanger and I have performed on flute and piccolo with orchestras such as Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, The Norwegian Cathedral Ensemble, Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra, Tromsø Chamber Orchestra and Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra.
I'm an international artist for Trevor James flutes and Beaumont Music.
Social and outgoing by nature, and a BIG flute nerd: I love ANYTHING flute!! :-)
I run an Instagram account (@EirikFlute) with almost 13000 followers from all over the world, where I share a lot of video recordings of my playing, and blog about being a flutist and a musician. I also co-host The FluteCast: a nerdy podcast with international flute soloist and travel ninja Stephen Clark.
I belive that flute lessons should be fun, and that we together can overcome flooty challenges with a smile on our faces! :-)

Eirik is a sharp teacher! I highly recommend taking a lesson with him. I was able to fix many small details, while also addressing concepts that can be applied to everything that I play. He treats his students with a high level of respect and holds good musicianship above all. Absolutely great! It was also very cool to have the opportunity to play for somebody halfway across the globe!

I took several flute lessons with Eirik for two years. His advise and sharp ears gave me the motivation to play the flute again and, thanks to his trust and help I even got admitted to the music conservatory of Tromsø. Eirik adapts his lessons to the type of musician you are and the musical challenges you would like to master ( like for example getting into the conservatory ) as well as your personality. During our lessons we also focused on the piccolo technique, something I had no experience of, and it was really fun discovering this instrument with Eirik. So I 150% recommend Eirik for your lessons.

I’ve had a couple of lessons with Eirik. He uses many different approaches to teaching, often sharing his own personal experience, which I find very useful. He has high expectations to me as a student and will help me in any possible way to reach those expectations. I have thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and I hope we will have more in the future!

Eirik has been teachning my daughter since she was 9 years old. She is now 12 and has had a great progress over these three years. I am very impressed with how Eirik has managed to teach even the little body of hers to play with such a big sound. Eirik is, as he describes himself, a true «flute-nerd», but in the good way. When teaching he is expecting commitment from the pupil, but then again he gives back tenfold (at least). We truly recommend Eirik as a teacher because he is a very dedicated to his work and he is very «cool fellow» who makes playing fun. As my daugheter puts it: «He is so positive and happy, i always have to smile when i see him». But what is more important is that he manage to motivate my daughter to always reach for higher levels and gets her there.
