Wanna play klezmer ? I'm a clarinetist specialized in authentic Yiddish music with more than 10 years of teaching experience.
In my lessons we’ll focus on the most common Jewish embellishments such as vibrato, glissando, krekhts and the controversial ornament known as the “laugh” or the “kiss”. We'll work on how to phrase in a Jewish style and how to create variations on a single melody. My playing philosophy rests on connecting the body to the instrument, so I like to revisit some clarinet basics like air support, posture, embouchure, tongue and jaw position. The lessons will be a mix of physical, technical and musical exercises to provide you with a big toolbox to further develop your clarinet playing.
