Horn player at the Berlin State Opera and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra, teaching experience through international masterclasses and lectures
Since 2004 I have been hornist of the Staatskapelle Berlin, the 450-year-old orchestra of the Berlin State Opera, and since 2008 I have also been a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
As an extra player, I have worked with all the major German orchestras and opera houses, performed with well-known ensembles such as German Brass and, in addition, in the last 10 years I have played a lot in Asia, including with the Malaysia PO, Hong Kong PO, China NSO, Korean SO, OE Kanazawa and New Zealand SO.
Furthermore, I have given many master classes, especially in Japan and China, for example at the International Horn Festival in Beijing.
Besides my great national and international orchestra experience, I would also like to pass on my teaching experience to you. We will work on expanding your dynamic range, sound quality and developing different timbres. Or if you would like to prepare for an audition, we can work especially on orchestral excerpts, which I know very well due to my extensive opera and also concert experience.
I look forward to hearing from you and we will start to improve your playing and performance step by step.
It was absolutely great getting to work with Frank. He is a very patient and outstanding teacher in many aspects. Frank provided me a information of lots of professors in Germany for my university audition, and gave me plenty of career advice. I would really recommend him because he really looks into your playing and picks out every aspects of your performance and indicate areas of improvement, especially my embouchure problem. Thanks for the lesson Frank and I look forward to work with you the next lesson!
I just enjoyed my first lesson with Frank. It was impressive how he was able to locate areas of improvement and came up with routines that addressed the issue of the spot. I case you want to bring your horn playing to a new level, I would for sure give Frank a try.
I highly recommend Frank’s lesson, meticulous, methodic and truly inspiring. Thanks Frank and looking forward to the next lesson.
