Hello!
Alongside regularly performing with the likes of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Opera, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra to name a few, I work in education to pass on my love of music and passion to keep the arts alive. My teaching experience includes the Purcell School for Young Musicians, junior department of the Trinity College of Music, other private schools, all maintaining a 100% ABRSM pass rate. I have also coached for the National Children's Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of Wales and run workshops for the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Live Music Now.
My style is very thorough on technique and I would usually structure a lesson to cover the following criteria:
* Warm - up
* Tailored technical exercises for tone development, finger dexterity, articulation, interval agility and intonation
* Repertoire exploration
* Sight-reading
* Chamber music - duets for example
Having said this, my main approach is to tailor lessons to the student's needs and am very open to finding a plan to suit! Most importantly, I wish to encourage learning through enjoyment and playing lots of fantastic music but with a detailed eye on correct production to ensure more long-term achievement. I also work closely with a performance psychologist, so am very interested in exploring this field with anyone who so wishes.
