Hello, I'm Jeanie - teacher at SUNY Potsdam, University of Ottawa, Ottawa Suzuki Strings; director of Equinox Chamber Music (Copenhagen, DK)

Hello from Canada! I teach at the University of Ottawa and SUNY Potsdam, the co-founder and director of Equinox Chamber Music (Copenhagen), and a teacher at Ottawa Suzuki Strings. My students range in age from 7-year-olds to mature adults.
In addition to many years of private teaching experience, I also offer my knowledge of orchestral playing and audition preparation, which I've gathered from 17 years of professional experience in various ensembles including the Royal Danish Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada, as well as my own studies in Germany (Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra), Canada (Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music), and the United States (Cleveland Institute of Music & University of Michigan).
My love of chamber music influences my teaching as well as every aspect of my own playing - I like to approach music with a chamber mindset, striving to understand the violin part(s) in the greater context of the piece and how my role contributes to the whole.
Of course, if you have specific technical issues you'd like to discuss, I'm also very comfortable speaking about them as well!
I hope I will be able to help you grow as both a technical player and a musician, and I look forward to working with you!

Jeanie has been a very positive influence on my son. He generally doesn't like to stand out in a crowd or to push himself, but Jeannie always finds the right words to encourage him and help him reach his potential.
