Growing up as a guitar player on Jimi Hendrix and blues I've got a solid case of the blues in my own personal style. But as a player as well as a teacher I have dug into the styles of funk, rock, light jazz and bossa nova, pop and latin. As much as playing live and recording is a passion, for me it's so giving to be able to pass on my knowledge to others - over the years I've developed my own style of playing and my personal view and approach to the study of guitar playing, the performance part and the philosophy of playing.
My methods spring from an understanding of what you as a guitar player are trying to convey - to me it's essential to pursue ideas, tell stories and search for the 'naval point' of a rythm feel or a solo.
It is my believe that, besides the persistence of practising over and over, a lot is achieved in the moment, hence I work with the credo that the student should explore the teachings by playing them with me rather than for me! Furthermore I strive not to impress, but to inspire and motivate with my own playing examples.
