I'm an ABRSM examiner and a private teacher with nearly 40 years experience. I'd be pleased to help you improve your piano playing.
I take a pragmatic approach rather than teaching to a "system"and I tailor lessons according to individual requirements. I am old fashioned enough to believe that you need to work to achieve results in anything that's worthwhile, but I know that my students say they find lessons enjoyable too.
Lessons are very much driven by the student's interests, though I encourage everyone to try new things too.
I aim to maintain a friendly, but professional atmosphere and try to help all my students do their best at their various levels and with their varied goals.

Trinity College of Music, London 1973 – 1976
LTCL, GTCLI undertook a three year Graduate course at Trinity College in the 70's, gaining Diplomas from there in due course. -
Self-employed musician/teacher 1976 – Present
For the last 40 years I have worked as a professional player and teacher of piano. A number of former students are now professional colleagues, but most play for enjoyment.I teach individuals to play the piano at various levels - up to diploma standard. Most of my students are adults, however, and they generally play for their own pleasure. I’m always happy to help in any way I can. -

Music examinerI travel across the world examining practical instrumental exams at grade and diploma level for the Royal Schools of Music.
