I think that we teach to be an artist before to being a musician, and I consider teaching like something which involves all parts of human knowledge. I developed a method starting from my studies with Angelo Gilardino, and recovering the main tradition of the Methods of 19th century and supplementing it by the modern techniques, until contemporary music. I consider it very important to have a specific knowledge in each part of one's own repertoire. So, I have developed the knowledge of performance practice, mainly in reference to the use of instruments of the 19th century as well as for the interpretation of ancient music. In my teaching, I combine all my knowledge as a musician with my skills as a performer and I don't leave anything to chance.
