I am a professional flutist with a knowledge of jazz, classical and world music styles.
I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing the love of music. I graduated at Berklee College Of Music in Flute Performance. Prior to Berklee, I earned Master's in Flute Performance and Education at Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Serbia. I've been combining a teaching and performance career for the past ten years. My teaching experience includes giving private flute, theory and harmony lessons. I enjoy incorporating my wide span of knowledge in classical, jazz and world music into teaching and sharing my experiences with young generations. For me, teaching is always and enriching process both for the teacher and the student, for we all have something precious to share with one another. I enjoy teaching very much, and love seeing how my students make progress and develop.
It's important that each student progresses at his/her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students each lesson. I like to play with my students together. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.

It is a great pleasure for me to find Milena, I love the feel and bit of the lessons. the light but serious attitude through which Milena takes me slowly into the magic of playing. very thorough, yet flexible. Milena is a wonderful and patient teacher who's willing to provide structured lessons, which is what she's done for me. She's incredibly helpful in having you widen your perspective, and sets personalized goals and tasks, which, me being a beginner in music theory, I'm very thankful for. The lessons are, of course, fun and enjoyable, and I'm very glad to be learning from her!

I was delighted to find Milena’s profile in my search for an instructor who could teach an older self taught student with traditional classic instruction, but also give direction in jazz and world music. I was even happier that she exceeded my expectations when we began to work together. She is gently but firmly working through my shortcomings with rhythm, building my confidence and challenging me to higher levels of competence in tone and technique. All with bright, positive energy.
