I have had the opportunity of studying with many great clarinet teachers in the past 55 years and was attracted to the energy, the bubbly personality, and the superior clarinet skills of Selin. Before making contact with her as a personal coach, I looked at her Facebook and Instagram pages and notices that what stood out was her “Joie de vivre”, her “kindred spirit” and her “love of playing the clarinet”. I have now had several lessons from Selin on “Play with a Pro” and it is exactly as I first expected. Selin transmitted to me her energy and love of the clarinet by going directly to the point of raising my skills and encouraging me to pay more attention to sound and quality playing. I am now, more than ever, energized to play and enjoy my instrument. I have changed a few tools: books, reeds, mouthpiece, etc. but the biggest change is in my attitude towards playing. I truly love how she explain herself during the lesson, its just wonderful how she can connect with you instantely and make you feel comfortable. Also it's awesome how she can repeat you the same instruction in many different ways until you understan it and each time she will repeat it calmly. I really recomend take a lesson with her. Realmente me encanta cómo se explica durante la lección, es maravilloso cómo puede conectarse contigo instantáneamente y hacerte sentir cómodo. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: I just took a free 15-minute trial clarinet lesson with Dr. Selin Gürol, who is a music professor in Istanbul, Turkey. It was pretty cool. I am working on my hand position toward improving some aspects of my technique in extreme key signatures and alternate fingerings. I am going to work on the things we studied today and try some of her suggestions before our next full lesson. All the best, Cb
