My research is focused on contemporary classical repertoire for classical guitar and also for electric guitar. My teaching approach is based on creativity and in-depth knowledge of the score. I like to deepen the special techniques, the particular notation and the different compositional styles of the contemporary repertoire. I will introduce the student to the world of Berio, Brouwer, Ginastera, Carter, Maderna, Donatoni, Petrassi, Bussotti, Scelsi, Reich, Murail, Ferneyhough and many others. From the avant-garde to the new complexity, from new classical music to minimalism. I will also show the new electric guitar repertoire (from Feldman and Stockhausen to Mackey and Dessner) and the compositions for classical guitar and electronics (live electronics or pre-recorded tape). I also teach improvisation and I focus on an in-depth knowledge of the fretboard, timbres and sound possibilities. Collaborating directly with the greatest living composers (Bryars, Bussotti, Sharp and many others) I have access to unpublished scores and little-known details about the interpretation and the history of their music.
