Staffan Sandström enjoys teaching and performing as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, and has given masterclasses and lecture-recitals in Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa. Staffan finished his Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal College Academy of Music in Stockholm in 1998, and he also has a Doctorate Master of Arts from Stony Brook University in New York, USA. After his studies he started to focus more on teaching and is currently holding the position of Senior Lecturer teaching the piano class at Mälardalen University in Västerås, Sweden. Since 2011 he is also Head of the Academy of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University (MOMDH). Staffan has been a frequent guest teacher at Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) in Hanoï, and is since 2019 project leader for a long term Linnaeus Palme exchange program in piano and chamber music between VNAM and MOMDH, supported by the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
