I'm principal timpanist of the Staatskapelle Berlin/State Opera Berlin with over 15 year of teaching experience on different levels.
Since the beginning of my studies i loved to share my experiences and passion for my instrument with other people. I used to play with many major orchestras in Germany such as WDR Sinfonieorchester, NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester, Staatsoper Hamburg and acquired a big repertoire of opera and orchestral music. Depending on your level we focus on the different requirements of timpani-playing. We will deal with the basics like technique and power and step over to dampening, tuning and movement. Or we take a closer look at choosing different types of mallets and use the timpani as an melodic instrument. Finally we can try very specific to dive deep into the orchestral repertoire or focus on preparation for auditions.
