I’m a member of New York Philharmonic’s First Violin Section with 15 years of teaching experience. I always use individual and friendly approach
I am a professional violinist occupying the Friends and Patrons Chair in the First Violin Section of the New York Philharmonic for the past 18 years. I also perform solo and chamber music regularly.
I teach privately and have successfully prepared numerous students for Competitions, recitals, youth orchestra auditions, college auditions , and Professional orchestral auditions. I take personalized approach, and believe in explaining clearly and accessibly to the students ( it’s especially important for kids and teenagers), why things should work well and efficiently when playing the violin.
When I teach, my hope is to pass on to my students how to be the ambassadors of beautiful musical pieces they are performing, to develop their own musical
opinions through interpretations, to be true artists who have their own voice and who think independently. I also hope for them to learn to be very self aware and discriminating during their individual practicing, to always listen and polish things in the practice room and to find ways to make it interesting and rewarding. I love hearing my students play when they bring their own personality through the pieces they are performing. Music is so much more than just perfect notes, and I hope to instill in my students excitement of interpreting the piece and having their individual voice heard through their performances.
