Principal bassoonist in the Orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera - Concerto Budapest Symphony Orchestra - Founder of the Wind Quintet Budapest
Welcome!
I'm principal bassoonist in the Orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera, the Concerto Budapest Symphony Orchestra (under András Keller), member of the Ensemble Mini Chamber Music Ensemble in Berlin, founder of the Wind Quintet Budapest, the Budapest Bassoon Trio and professor at the Vienna Konservatorium's Hungarian department in Budapest.
During the way of becaming a professional musican I realized that the most important in the life of the students to learn a lot from many different people, and to find the way that the instrument becomes really the part of your life with the daily bases.
My goal with teaching is to open your mind quickly with my excercises and creat together your own personal warming up routine. Doesn't matter from witch age and on what kind of level you are.
Reedmaking is one of the essential part of my bassoonist life as well. I found many new ways and tricks about how to make nice resonable reeds quite easily, to change the sound of them quickly, and how to use them much longer than usually we would think...
You can watch some videos and read more about me here below in the education part. For the lessons I'm waiting you with professional sound and picture setup. Feel free to contact me and I will help you in any kind of preparing you need at the moment!
Bálint is an excellent musician and a very well taught bassoonist. The lesson is very fluent and dynamic. The most important thing is, I really solved questions and doubts I had and I received bonus informations that he is ready to give you. Bálint is an excellent person as well. I will repeat a lesson soon.
First I found and I was listening his YouTube recordings, and I was wishing that the way how he speaks so musically on the instrument once I will also be able too. After taking a masterclass with him I became one of his student, and I see that my playing grows on musical and technical way so much and so quickly how I never expected. And now I understand that to play so espressive, with big flexible sound, and with a very fine articulated technique is not just the luck of extremly talented people, this is a way what everybody can learn with lots of work and with a very good teacher who opens you to this way.
On two masterclasses I had the opportunity to learn from Bálint Mohai. Working with him is such a musical travel and technical freshing up in the same time. He is a very well prepared teacher, and you can ask anything from him about the bassoon and everything what is around to be a full bassoonist musican. He is the type of teacher that he knows all the answers, but even if something not, he won't give up untill he doesn't find the right answer personally to you.
