Brian Santero

I'm the Principal Trombone of the New York City Ballet and have been teaching for 15+ years. I like to help bring out the artist in the player.

I love to teach as it helps to refine my ideas and be able to present them better. I'm a big fan of solo and etude study and utilizing exercises based on the music to strengthen technique.

I don't believe there's a one-size-fits-all approach so am typically very malleable in my approach to help you get better. I am also a firm believer that character and expression are a vital part of being a musician, one of the reasons I take a light-hearted approach with humor and friendliness.
