Hi! I hold a B.M. from the Berklee College of Music. I have ten years professional performing experience in Jazz and Popular music.
I believe a student should find his individual voice. I strive to teach technique and artistry at the same time. One of the great things about music is the ability to express your individual version of yourself. I personalize my lessons to the individual student. I'm well versed in Jazz and popular music, as well as Classical. We will go over everything needed to improve (scales, air, time feel, styles, reading, improvisation, etc), depending on the individual needs of the student. I truly love teaching and I feel that I've reached a level on my instruments after ten years of touring that I have a lot to offer to student, and truly love sharing my knowledge. I'm very patient, and realize that music is not easy. My touring experience has given me a hands-on practical approach to teaching music, one that is based on things that work in the real world, and gets out of the standard "music education" setting. to check out

Cooper is awesome! I'm actually a violin teacher who's learning jazz, and he's so clear with his explanations and demonstrations that I'm able to easily apply what he says even to a totally unrelated instrument. He also makes it clear what I should be practicing from lesson to lesson, which is such a huge help in the broad topic of jazz. I'm sure you'll love lessons with Cooper, no matter your level. Give it a try!
