Hi, my name is Diego!
I truly believe that playing music, and specifically cello, should be a pleasure. Both for the spirit and the body.
When one of these two aspects is missing, when there are distractions for our head or difficulties for fingers and arms, then the experience lacks its entirety.
I take in great account what the body is telling us while we play.
I am also very interested in helping cellists to test their resistance (focus, memory...) before a performance, an audition or an exam. Sometimes only by listening to them, other times by giving some feedback, if they want it. Mock auditions proved always to be a good way to test our preparation and endurance, so I strongly suggest this process. And this platform is just perfect for such goals.
The student is always the protagonist of the lesson. I completely trust this principle and I try to be always flexible in understanding what a student needs. Often the student only needs to just play through the piece/s a couple of times (without being interrupted) and "flush" the pre-exam tension away.
I am looking forward to meeting you on Play with a pro!
Diego is a really good teacher. He helped me a lot on my journey of preparing auditions and to improve my technique and my musical expression . One of the things I like the most is that he sees easily what has to be improved and he knows how to help you. The environment he creates during the lessons makes you feel comfortable and safe. I highly recommend Diego Liberati as a teacher.
My work with Diego has been truly inspiring and fun. Not only are his remarks detailed and concrete, they are given in full respect for the musician's own musical taste. In that way it's been very stimulating to overcome my own fear and anxiety in preparation of an orchestral audition. He's a committed and empathic ear.
Diego Liberati is a fine and grounded teacher. He inspired me a lot with his musicality and technique as well as with many new practice skills. Together with his knowledge he leaves space for the student's own ideas and personality. I can strongly recommend Diego Liberati as a teacher as well as a coach for audition preparation.
