I am Frits Damrow from the Netherlands. From 1991 until 2010 I was principal trumpet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam and trumpet teacher at the Conseratorium van Amsterdam from 1993 until 2010.
Since 2009 I am Professor of Trumpet at the Zürich University of the Arts in Switzerland (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. www.zhdk.ch).
As a teacher and trumpet soloist I have been invited to many international festivals and summer academies, like the Hamamatsu Wind Instruments Summer Academy and the Affinis Festival in Japan, the Aurora Festival and the Blekinge Brass Academy in Sweden, the Sauerland Herbst Festival and the Norddeutsche Trompetentage in Germany, Musica Verano in Mexico and several festivals in Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, China, South Korea and Canada.
Since many years I have been teaching all levels of trumpet players. I did workshops for music school and wind band trumpet players as well as Masterclasses at renowned institutions worldwide.
