Helena Bivar

I'm a professional classical pianist with +19 years of teaching experience. I have a Master in Music Education, specialized in Piano Pedagogy.

I am a Portuguese classical pianist and piano teacher, with a Master in Music Education from the Aveiro University and more than 19 years of experience in teaching. I am currently doing my PhD in Psychology and Pedagogy of Music. I also have a Master degree in Music (Piano Performance), and a Postgraduate degree in Music in Childhood: Intervention and Research.
I have participated in piano masterclasses given by Artur Pizarro, Vladimir Tropp, Boris Berman, José Feghali, Noriko Ogawa, Naum Grubert, Enrico Pace, Konstantin Bogino and Valentina Berman, as well as chamber music masterclasses with Michael Uhde, Olga Pratts, Xenia Gamaris, Hardy Rittner and Konstantin Bogino.
I have performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician in venues in Portugal, The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium.
I tailor my lessons to each individual student, according to their interests, levels and learning goals. Teaching is something I love and that I have continuously done privately and in music schools, with students from beginner to advanced levels, from 3 to about 70 years old. With my help you can learn from a basic to an advanced level, develop musical and technically, to read and interpret any score. Give it a try!
