Jan was appointed Professor of Trombone at the HfM Dresden in October 2022. Prior he served as a Wechselposaunist at Deutsche Oper Berlin
I have always been passionate about teaching and learning alongside my students.
Before becoming professor at HfM Dresden, I taught at HMT Rostock and at the Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (HfM Hanns Eisler).
In addition to playing the trombone, I have completed training in music physiology (University of the Arts) and as a mental coach (ILS Hamburg), actively incorporating this knowledge into my teaching.
It is a pleasure to witness people around me developing their abilities.
I firmly believe that solid musical foundations and technical skills are essential for creating music. I strive to tailor my teaching approach to each student, aiming to cultivate a joyful and efficient practice routine that suits their individual needs.

Professor of TromboneIn October 2022, I was appointed Professor of Trombone at the HfM Dresden. I lead chamber music projects as a conductor and conduct numerous sectional rehearsals. Furthermore, I conduct masterclasses and actively participate as a chamber musician.
