  Assistant Professor, Vocal Jazz/Jazz Studies/Department of Music,
  I am NCCU's Vocal Jazz Professor/Coordinator in the Jazz Studies undergraduate and graduate degrees in Performance and Composition & Arranging. I also teach vocal jazz ear training and songwriting. I also am Director of the NCCU Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

• Juilliard Jazz, at The Juilliard School, New York City, NY, USA 2018 – Present

  Jazz Vocal Advisory Board, Master of Music
  Advise and advocate for vocal jazz curricula materials, procedures and protocols for selection of eligible candidates who want to study Jazz Voice for the Master of Music degree at Juilliard Jazz with Dianne Reeves, Kurt Elling, Carmen Lundy et al.

  Doctor of Music Arts candidate in Music Education (expected completion 2020)
  Completing Dissertation. My research is on the intersection of Jazz and Intercultural Competence where students study Jazz in Global Classrooms.

  While earning the MM degree I directed the ECU Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

• Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA USA 1979 – 1982

  Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring/Voice
  First African-American vocalist to earn the BM in Film Scoring. Finished the degree three years.
