Lisa Meyerhofer

I play Flute/Piccolo in the Des Moines, Omaha, and Chattanooga Symphonies, and Opera in the Ozarks, and have 12 years of teaching experience.

I believe that every student has the potential to do anything they aspire to, and strive to find the best solutions to help each individual reach their goals. My flute teaching style is analytical - I want to help students figure out exactly why they are having difficulty in a certain area. Yet I also want to help students truly enjoy their playing. Music is hard work, but shouldn't feel like a chore. Beyond all the details, I want to help my students play music they love and feel good about. I am especially passionate about the piccolo, so if you want to improve your piccolo skills alongside your flute practice I’m excited to help!

Lisa has an enormous amount of patience, a very positive attitude of encouragement, yet also gently highlights specific areas where one can improve and offers guidance as how to get better.
