I started out as Solo Oboe with Royal Danish, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestras. I provide life support on all things oboe, auditions, trials etc !

Now freelancing, I have enjoyed 45 years of employment in three orchestras. My teachers included David Theodore and Maurice Bourgue. Having heard hundreds of auditions and played plenty myself, I'm particularly interested in teaching how to practice effectively and build concentration. I can illustrate or just listen and encourage your musicality ! Orchestral, operatic or chamber repertoire, I can help with preparing excerpts and tips on how to pass probation. I appreciate all kinds of oboe sounds and do not push students to change 'their' sound (unless requested specifically.) Having someone to play to regularly helps you shape your own ideas and grow self confidence no matter what your level. I have often reached out for refresher lessons. A film director asked Pablo Casals why he was still practicing in his 80's....." Because I think I am making progress !"
