Hi! I'm the Principal Flutist of the Oslo Philharmonic. With years of teaching and playing, I’d love to help you shape your music and sound!
Hi! My name is Ting-Wei Chen, and I am currently a flutist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under Chief Conductor Klaus Mäkelä. I am passionate about making music and bringing it to life through the flute. Beautiful sound is an essential part of that, but music comes first—it’s about expression, storytelling, and connection.
Having spent years performing in professional orchestras, I understand the demands of the job firsthand. I can guide you through audition excerpts by refining different musical styles and sound concepts, as well as helping you prepare for auditions—whether it’s overcoming stage fright, managing mental or physical challenges, or fine-tuning your performance strategy.
Additionally, I hold a postgraduate degree in Music Physiology from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, which has provided me with deep insights into flute playing. I can help you improve posture, breathing techniques, embouchure, articulation, and other essential elements to enhance your playing.
Most importantly, I believe that every musician is unique. I am committed to shaping our lessons to fit your individual needs, whether it’s refining technical details, working on musical expression, or developing your own artistic voice.
