I love teaching and try to pass on my lifelong experience in interpreting lieder, songs, mélodies as well as oratorio. I focus on the song's poems, on how to tell a story through singing, phrasing, colouring the voice and how to put a song into the bigger context of a program. I provide advice on the right repertoire and help you compile a program that suits your voice.
I am teaching on eye level, I am open to frank discussions and humour is not excluded during lessons ;-)
Schubert taught me the importance of touching the human soul with music. This is why I myself became a singer. My repertoire includes all the German Lieder masters, the French mélodies and the great repertoire of oratorio.
Another focus is on formerly persecuted composers like Ullmann, Krasa, Pavel Haas and others whose compositions were called "entartete Kunst".
