I'm a professional oboist and Rigoutat Artist in Australia and would love to help you engage with this gorgeous instrument in an exciting way!

I have studied, performed, and taught throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, where I am currently teaching and playing in Melbourne.

I am a native of South Carolina in the United States where I studied with Dr. Rebecca Nagel at the University of South Carolina for my Bachelor's degree before moving to Strasbourg, France to complete my Master’s of Music Performance with Sébastien Giot and Christian Schmitt at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Music Performance at the University of Melbourne.

My teaching and playing styles offer a unique combination of these multicultural experiences, and I draw from them to cater my approach to each individual student. My teaching style is multi-faceted and dynamic and focuses on going beyond the notes on the page to discover the beauty of the music within.

A bit of my professional story...

Since the success of my first professional audition for the Greenville Symphony Orchestra (USA) at the age of 21, I have performed with many orchestras in the U.S., France, and Australia including the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Opéra National du Rhin, Pro Musica, the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, and Orchestra Victoria. During my time in France, I worked in collaboration with renowned conductor Theodor Guschlbauer for solo and chamber performances at the Prix de l'Europe awards and in private performances for the diplomats of the European Parliament. In addition to my orchestral playing, I performed in a number of shows at Her Majesty's Theatre for the Broadway production of Disney's Aladdin in 2017 and in the world premiere of the musical The Dressmaker in 2018.

Since moving to Melbourne in 2016, I have quickly established myself as a leading teacher and performer. I teach oboe at two private schools in Melbourne and serve as the Victorian State Representative for the Australasian Double Reed Society in addition to being Co-Artistic Director for the 2020 ADRS National Conference. I have given masterclasses at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the Elder Conservatorium, Vanderbilt University, and the University of South Carolina.

Finally, I am very proud to be a Rigoutat Artist and I play on a model ‘J’ oboe.
