I'm a professional oboist and Rigoutat Artist in Australia and would love to help you engage with this gorgeous instrument in an exciting way!

I have studied, performed, and taught throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, where I am currently teaching and playing in Melbourne.

I am a native of South Carolina in the United States where I studied with Dr. Rebecca Nagel at the University of South Carolina for my Bachelor's degree before moving to Strasbourg, France to complete my Master’s of Music Performance with Sébastien Giot and Christian Schmitt at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin. In 2023 I received my PhD in Music Performance from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne where I was a Melbourne Research Scholar.

My teaching and playing styles offer a unique combination of these multicultural experiences, and I draw from them to cater my approach to each individual student. In my teaching I prioritise going beyond the notes on the page to discover the deeper meaning and beauty of the music within.

A bit of my professional story...

As an orchestral musician, I have performed in the U.S., France, and Australia with groups including the Greenville and Charleston Symphony Orchestras, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Opéra National du Rhin, Pro Musica, the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, Victorian Opera, and Orchestra Victoria. In addition to my orchestral playing, I maintain an active schedule performing as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2023 I performed recitals in Melbourne and Thailand, and was honoured to be the guest soloist with the Australian Doctors Orchestra for their 30th anniversary concert, performing Graeme Koehne's oboe concerto, 'In-Flight Entertainment'.

I am currently the oboe teacher at Loreto Mandeville Hall and work as a tutor for Musical Perspectives and Chamber Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in addition to serving as the Assistant for the Chamber Music program. I am also an active member of the Australasian Double Reed Society and have served as the the ADRS Victorian State Representative since 2019.

I am proud to be a Rigoutat Artist and I play on a model ‘J’ oboe and Rigoutat Cor Anglais.
