Member of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Technique should serve the music! We are learning the technical skills in order to express music.
I am a member of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2014. In my 8 years of experience playing in Munich Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic and Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestras, I played under some of the most distinguished conductors in classical music world, including Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Jaap van Zweden and many others. I have performed in world famous concert halls including Carnegie Hall in New York, Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, including teaching American exchange students at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.
I offer violin lessons in English and German. In my lessons you will learn how to play the violin in smallest details, everything clearly explained. I offer beginner violin lessons as well as lessons for advanced students. The starting level is not so important for me, the progress is! I believe almost everyone can play violin on a very decent level, if they have the will to learn and get the knowledge from the teacher. In my violin lessons I teach everything, starting from the very basics like how to stand, how to hold the violin, how to produce a great sound up to very advanced playing techniques and musical interpretation solutions. I do prepare people for exams and auditions, as well as international and national competitions.
Learning with Domas is a fruitful experience. He teaches technique in a systematic way and strengthens the basic technique bit by bit. By careful observation, he can pinpoint your problems, explaining clearly and help you play the pieces well. Besides technique, he also emphasises the importance of good and relaxed posture and the resonance of the instrument, which are very crucial to the sound production of the violin.
