"Strategically retired" after 32 years at the Zürich Opera House. Still very active as a player and pedagog all over the world.
I have decades of experience with the greatest conductors and musicians in Europe both on the natural and the unnatural (valved) horn ;-).
I am very experienced at teaching the European style horn playing which is characterized by the micro-dynamic shaping of individual notes. I have given master classes all over the world, including Juilliard, Eastman (Rochester) San Francisco Conservatory, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv and many more.
I have also developed a breathing technique I call the "Delta Force" which effectively engages the transverse abdominis muscle, the largest and most efficient muscle involved in controlled exhalation. This not only gives more control in loud and soft playing but also maintains firm resonant surfaces on the inside of our body while playing the horn. This is essential to mastering the European bell tone style.
