I play second flute in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and I'm the former principal of the Auckland Philharmonia. I teach at Roosevelt University
I know how great an inspiring lesson can feel, and I aim to help my students achieve that sort of challenged bliss. I focus a lot on fundamentals in tone and technique, and I try to encourage my students to find their own voice (rather than just plainly telling them how to play). Curiosity is a quality that I try to nurture in my students.
I have held both principal and second positions in orchestras, and I can help you prepare for an audition in either of those roles, as well as piccolo. I can also help if you're struggling with an idea or concept (vibrato, articulation, legato, etc).
