After almost 20 years with the Israel Philharmonic as Principal Flute, I can now help you with your goals as flutists and musicians.

We have all been students and it is always pleasant to recall a significant figure from our past.

Until this day, I can hear certain key phrases and insights of my teachers that helped mold my musical personality.

I especially remember one musician, whose smile and support accompanied me as a child, and I hold an image of him encouraging me and helping me through many hours of practice.

For more than 20 years, teaching has been a major part of my life. Nothing can compare with the excitement I feel at a concert of my students.

Their dedication, devotion and wish to improve and succeed, in addition to their constant energy, fill me with immense satisfaction.

I teach flute and conducting, coach ensembles, and give a weekly workshop for students at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. In the workshop we discuss various issues concerning playing and music, as well as professional considerations that will confront the students after their graduation.

Some would, perhaps, raise an eyebrow at the inclusion of conducting in my teaching assignments, but I consider the encounter with an ensemble or orchestra very educational. I must mention that even standing before a professional orchestra, and being able to get the best out of the musicians for the music, is precisely the role of a teacher.

I take great pride in my many students who appear on concert stages around the world, as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestra members, as well as recipients of awards and winners of competitions.‫
Lookin forward to meeting you,
Eyal.

Hagar Shahal Flutist with the Meitar Ensemble March

I began taking lessons with Eyal when I was still in high school, but to this day he remains my go-to musician whenever a big audition or competition is coming up. Eyal is a wonderful flutist and musician, whose musicianship alone sets a great example for his students. He is a terrific teacher, with highly analytical skills - he'll pinpoint the problem or issue at hand and immediately propose a solution. He always offers a wide perspective about the piece: the era, style, mood, orchestration, ensemble-playing, etc. What I appreciate above all in Eyal's teaching is the balance he finds between guidance and support on one hand, and letting the students find their own voice and expression in the music, as well as their own path in life.

Margarita Timoshin March

My name is Margarita Timoshin and I have studied with Mr. Ein-Habar during my Bachelor degree in Tel-Aviv Uni. I can warmly recommend taking lessons with him. He is a renowned flute player and a passionate teacher. He is a true musician with a lot of experience in the field of solo as well as orchestraand chamber playing. I owe most of my progress to him.

Tamar Romach Solo Flute, Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe March

Eyal Ein Habar was my flute teacher during my BA studies in Tel Aviv. Eyal is not only an amazing flutist, he is also a fantastic teacher, highly experienced orchestra player, and a wonderful conductor. He brings all these qualities into his flute lessons. The 4 years he was my teacher shaped and build me to be the flutist that I am today. I learned from him the technical aspects of flute playing such as breathing, sound quality and articulation, as well as musical phrasing, playing in different musical styles, orchestra playing and solo playing. I am very grateful I had the privilege of being Eyal’s student.
