Born in Moldova, Iulian Pusca graduated from the Republican Musical Lycée “C. Porumbescu” and the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in the pan flute class of Ion Negură, regarded as one of the best pan flute teacher in the world and the founder of the Moldavian Pan flute School that dominated all over due to his sought-after students. Iulian then studied pan flute with Ciarán O’Connell (flutist) and Keith Pascoe (violinist) and obtained a Master’s Degree at the DIT Conservatoire of Music and Drama (Dublin, Ireland). He later participated in master classes with James Galway.
Iulian's record includes only First Prices and Grand Prix at numerous international competitions and festivals. Also, at the age of eighteen, Iulian has been awarded as Honoured Artist of Republic of Moldova.
Iulian Pusca is an active performer and pursues an International performance career. His tours across Europe brought him on numerous stages, playing with many well known musicians and performing as soloist with various orchestras, including the Moldovan National Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra, the Kishinev Chamber Orchestra of Organ Hall (Moldova), RTÉ Concert Orchestra, RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet, RTÉ ConTempo Quartet, Concorde Ensemble (Ireland), Heath Quartet (UK), the Jalas–Jarven Symphony Orchestra (Finland), Schwerin Symphonic Orchestra (Germany) and many other folk orchestras and renaissance ensembles such as:“Lăutarii”,”Folclor”,”Flueras”,”Mugurel”, etc. His extensive repertoire includes a wide range of genres including Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary as well as Jazz, Romanian and Moldovan folklore music.
