I am a pianist currently based in New York working at the Juilliard School. I previously taught at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
Hi everyone! My name is Miki Aoki, I am a pianist currently based in New York City. I started playing the piano at the age of 4 and studied with wonderful teachers in Japan, England, U.S.A. and in Germany. I currently work at the Juilliard School. I have a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University and Master's degree from Yale University. I am a doctorate candidate and teaching assistant at Stony Brook University in New York.
I would love to pass on the joy of music making! What makes playing the piano fun is being able to make fast progress and play the pieces you always wanted. My strength in teaching is giving advice at all levels and embracing every student's personality and ability. I've taught children as young as 3, adult beginners and professionals. As a teaching assistant, I give weekly piano lessons to undergraduate piano students. I will always give honest comments and advice at every step of your learning process!
